I.Mission
Based on the concept of holistic education, the Department of Japanese aims to cultivate professional Japanese language talents who are diligent, sociable, excellent, and innovate in order to meet the needs of talents for the industrial development in the country. Our undergraduate curriculum emphasizes practicality, covering advanced language training courses in listening, speaking, reading, writing, translation, and interpreting and other diverse courses. Moreover, through the integration of the school’s resources, we designed the “Three-in-One” curriculum, including applied Japanese language, business management, and e-business, is designed to meet industrial needs. The graduate curriculum emphasizes both theoretical and practical aspects and centers on linguistic application and Japanese studies, so as to train students to be professional Japanese language talents with theoretical knowledge and practical experiences.
II.Orientation
Our department is the first-ever department in applied Japanese language established by a national university/college in Taiwan. In the undergraduate curriculum, we offer language training and practical courses in Japanese economy and trade affairs. Our students are offered opportunities to minor in economics and trading. About the graduate program, there are two groups—Linguistic Application Group and Japanese Studies Group, with an aim to cultivate professional Japanese talents with theoretical knowledge and practical experiences. The Department of Japanese has experienced faculty members, who are deeply involved in their specifications, providing goal-oriented systematic courses. With advanced facilities, we help students achieve their goals in learning. |
